I got first in the jam thing less gooo! I'm genuinely really surprised by this. I actually had I really tough time making this one. I started late because I couldn't come up with an idea that I was happy with and that I was capable of creating in time. Even after everything started to fall into place, I had low expectations for its performance compared to my previous entry. I was very wrong. I think this is the most appreciated thing I have ever created. Again, I have to thank the voice actors a ton. They sold the effect so well, and that was what my entry came down to in the end. Selling the effect.

I think that after the jams are over, I'm going to make behind the scenes videos because man the making of these things are little journeys of their own.

The other entries where so good. I think the Pico and the Newgrounders one was my favorite, but there is so much to choose from. The Blockhead related ones are probably my favorite of the ones that didn't get top 15. Also shout outs to the madness cartoon because it got me to finally go watch all of madness combat. Good stuff.

I'm a bit stuck on what to make for this next round, but seeing as I made it through this before, I think you can expect at least a small effort thing to come from me.

So I just finished working on my newest animation for the animation jams. I thought I should mention that I wont be home for the next few days, so I'm not going to be able to read most reviews or messages related to the video until I get back. Its a little sad to miss the live event, but I'll make sure to watch it in its entirety the following Saturday.

I can't believe my animation actually made top 15! My baby animation made 7th place and I can't really express how I feel about it. Imposter syndrome really starting to hit because all of the other winning entries are amazing. I sort of feel like I have no choice but to participate in the next round, so I guess that's what I'm doing with my life now. This one's going to be tougher for me because I'm going to animate in a style I don't have experience in, but I'm determined to at least make something that's cool to see.

If there are any animators reading this who didn't participate in the first round, I highly encourage you to join in now. I loved watching the entries.

I managed to buy an rtx 3060 at msrp from best buy this morning. I wont be able to pick it up until next week but I'm already super hyped. I have a gt 710 in my computer so this is a massive upgrade for me. I currently render stuff from blender on my cpu because the 710 is that bad. Faster render times are going to help a lot with any 3d animations I make. Its a shame I couldn't get one sooner because I have to render an animation for the animation jam right now.

I don't have any other news really, I just wanted to share my excitement. :)

I was working on an animated short in December and I was only considering uploading it to youtube. On the 24th (the day I posted my animation) I happened to see someone talking about newgrounds on twitter. I was actually surprised because I thought it was long dead, but I took a look and immediately realized that I had to upload here. It's just nice to know that I get guaranteed views if I post something here. Its a real change of pace for me. It was awesome to get even a little bit of feedback on my work and I'm inspired to keep creating because of it.

So yeah, I'm new and I plan on being more active here. It will probably be a while before I finish another video project because life responsibilities get in the way, but I'm hopeful that I can at least post a drawing every once in a while.

Anyways enough with the boring stuff, here's a little animation I made that I hope to clean and color someday.
